v0.42.0.0 - Server options "Max Age" on primary cascading
« on: March 17, 2016, 01:18:20 PM »
Bug Description:

In the server settings, when using a primary and backup(s) servers, configured to cascade from one to the next, all set to connect only when active, if you set a max age (say 21) in the primary server options, and try and download an article that is say 30 days, the primary server will not attempt to download the article, however, the backup servers will also not attempt to connect and get the file.

It's like the max age setting for the Primary server is cascading into the backup servers settings like a global setting.

In the backup servers i have no max age set.

If i disconnect, change the max age setting back to 0, and reconnect then the primary tries to get the file, can't and the backup takes over as expected.

ok, i'll have to read through that fully

i'm also finding the same problem when running though my vpn, because obviously the isp servers aren't accessible then, but alt.binz just runs through all the threads/files trying and doesn't switch to the backup, meaning for me, it's exactly the same as previous versions and i have to constantly swap servers back and forth manually through the setup menu, except now i have to swap primary/backup flags as well.

Those are 2 separate scenarios. When the change is implemented, you'll be able to just disable primary for collection and it will switch to backups.
