upon trying to search Binsearch I get
"Error During Transfer"
I'm not aware of any bug, it appears to be working here.
So please try to help me reproduce that bug.

Since lately the versions have updated rather fast I'm not sure - I think it began one day in 0.31.6
I use XP.
Any string I type in binsearch like 'IMAX' for example without the quotation - I get error during transfer
secure protocol:disable
Fav:Popular
Fetch:all groups
number of result per page:1000
search for files in the last xx days:1
substring:IMAX
sort by :date(recent)
size from:0
size to:0
only collection: not chosen
only with .nfo:not chosen
include/exclude:null
if the secure protocol is enabled then I get the data without any problems only if the secure protocol is disabled then I get the error

Fine here with or without ssl. So it's not alt.binz
Do you have norton by any chance. It's messing with your requests.

No - Securilty essentials.
Is there any file which might be corrupt and I need to delete it ?

You could always try with config file (misc/config.abz). But I'm 99% sure whatever is scanning your http traffic is modifying requests also.

...
search for files in the last xx days:1
i think there might be your problem your limiting your search to 1 single day, but newest posts containing the searchsting imax are 4 days old...
does browsing newsgroups work?
-
a. when I choose a substring ('1080p x264') which has posts today I get the same error
b. regarding the newsgroup browser - I don't know how to use it
I received all the list of all the groups when I choose a group by indicating it on the left square and pressing fetching - I see that something is dl but I don't know how to actually see what was dl.

I tried on another computer entirely using Windows 7 & 0.31.8 but on the same network
The same error when binsearch is not secured

Binsearch requires gzip support for requests, and if the client or network doesn't support gzip, it falls back to SSL. I guess something on your network/firewall/proxy is interfering with the gzip en-/decoding.
You can test this yourself by checking packets with Wireshark or the like.
