When I load altbinz from the start menu, it loads up maximised. New version popup comes up in foreground before quickly disappearing to background.

Same for me, except from starting from taskbar. :)
Same behaviour of popup.

Windows size is same as before (dont have it maximized).

why bother to show the new version window at all? (to drop a bombshell ;D) People who activate Autopush version button can see in that very button that there actually IS a new version. But, however, I'm fine every which way you go with this. I like the program, and I like the way it's being constantly improved, but an update every month should be fine too. The pop-up may be annoying to some people, but isn't really that important. Anyway, keep up the good work, allthough the feel temperature is now a good 15 degrees Celsius below zero.

Wrong thinking. Bug in .1 when .2 was released and of course you can fix that in two versions "later". (if we report the same in .3 you can fix that in .5)

I noticed that A.B. was doing the same to me, but switching to a different program and then back to A.B. (Alt-Tab) always brings the notification window to the front (Windows 7, 64-bit, if it makes a difference).

New version pops to front okay! Unfortunately, when the popup is closed no other windows can be selected - altbinz remains at front until closed completely. Sorry! (XP)

Same for me in Win7/64. Probably related to https://www.altbinz.net/forum/index.php?topic=4489.0
Guess that one is also fixed in 0.33.4 with this one.

I would say, close this one...and wait for 0.33.5 to come out to close the on-top bug topic.
