I thought that also, but one of the developers of Diablo idles @#alt.binz@EFnet and says one byte drop is Diablos fault under heavy load.

The developers of Diablo discussed the bug on their mailing list which is archived, and they spoke in terms of whole lines dropped.  Heavy load, highspeed posts and running Diablo on Linux instead of FreeBSD is thought to unleash the bug.

Ok

OK. I posted the mentioned file to alt.binaries.test. alt.binz says it contains 34/36 blocks. QuickPar recognizes only 33/36.

The header is
Code: [Select]
Test Post for ABZ - Diablo Bug Example [2/7] - "alt.binz-DiabloBug.zip" yEnc

The zip file contains the corrupted RAR archive and the small PAR2 file.

After unzipping the file and finding 33 good blocks, I downloaded segment (131/131) by itself using another newsreader, decoded it to another folder and used QuickPar's Add button, with the above result.
