Option to remove days from ETA
« on: February 16, 2007, 03:15:18 AM »
Thank you for this wonderful program. I tried 2 commercial apps and 3 freebies before finding alt.binz. It's the best freeware find I've made in ages.

I realise some people may download big files or have a slow connection, however my downloads never take more than a few hours. Could we have an option to display the download ETA without the days part? If something takes more than 1 day to download, it would basically show more than 24 hours in the hours column.

If this isn't possible, the other option is to be able to display the speed as MB/s, rather than kB/s. I don't often get up to a full 1 MB/s, but displaying numbers like 0.8 or 0.9 rather than 800.2 or 900.5 means I would have more room for the ETA to display.

i would like that, too.
i didn't ever have downloads that took more than a few hours to complete. instead i often minimize alt.binz to the taskbar but there's not enough space to show download speed and the whole remaining time, even if there are only minutes left. that's because it always shows something like 0d 0h ... and i can't see the minutes left.
it would be nice to have at least the option to remove "days remaining" from being shown.
i know i can move the pointer over the taskbar so that the tooltip is being shown but it would be nice to see the remaining time without having to move the pointer to the taskbar, especially when surfing while downlaoding

If it could be made so that it would only display days if the download took over a day, hours if more than an hour etc. That would probably be the best solution.

This one would probably be implemented. Without option.

yes, i do. without using invert eta/speed i wouldn't see any remaining time in my taskbar "tab" because of too little space/width there

btw i'm using vista ultimate. is there any way to change the default width of the taskbar "tabs" (don't know what they are called exactly)?  if i could tweak the width my problem would be solved, too. but of course the solution inside alt.binz would be better :)
