Download of broken segments from different Providers
« on: November 13, 2010, 04:55:09 PM »
i have a good and cheap provider, but sometimes there are some file incomplete.
You can repair it via par2 files, but somtimes there are to many files broken.
I ve noticed that another provider may have your needed files complete.

It would be nice if altbinz could downlaod from a main-provider (one you have a flatrate on)
and use an alternate provider (a prepaid one with 10gb or so) for segments couldn t be found.

Do you get my idea?

Yes, this feature is already part of Alt.Binz.  Add a second server as a backup to your main one in Setup > Servers. Lots of threads in the forum about this if you want to read up (also the wiki).

if its included in in altbinz , its not working right.
if i put two providers in the server list, altbinz is using both at the same time.
(provider a = 10 slots , provider b = 5 slots, altbinz is downloading with 15 slots)
if a slot of provider A fails to find a segment, altbinz doesn t retry on a slot on provider B.
And the file is finished as uncomplete, even if its complete on provider B.

But,what i mean, how altbinz should do it, is like:
use only provider A and just use B for a missing segment of a file.
