Portable config
« on: November 02, 2008, 12:56:11 PM »
Hi!

Would it be possible to make alt.binz use an ini-file, rather than storing the config in the registry? That way you could have one ini-file for home, one for work/school and one for "travel" (each ini-pointing to different temp/dl directories) and have alt.binz on an USB stick and always with you without leaving any traces (other than the use of temp directories that can easily be cleaned) ;D

(an alternative to different ini-files, would be one ini-file with multiple location sections)

first of all alt.binz doesn't use the registry

everything setting wise is in the "misc" folder
you just have to change the "config.abz" file in the "misc" folder

The ony registry setting is the .nzb association, IIRC.  Alt.Binz is completely portable as it is, and runs fine from a USB stick.
