SSL & Search Engines
« on: April 29, 2008, 10:09:01 AM »
Since both Newzleech and Binsearch now have SSL pages, it would be nice if we had the option to use these in Alt.Binz when searching.  This might be overkill, but still - why not? :)

I 2nd that request.

In my opinion secure searching can never be bad.
Hope it's not to hard to implement.

Greetings...

Eweka has his sslreader now, maybe you can put a tab to or put a blanco tab that you can fill with your sslreader instead.

I think you're confused.. the sslreader has nothing to do with the search engine tabs.. It's an address you fill in under server properties..

Now you have 2 options on NL SS & Newzbin, if you create a blanco tab, and than you fill the ssl from a third party.
I have now from Eweka a ssl with a login and pasword.
Maybe a good idea?

Dude..
A) Read what the topic is about (SSL functionality of the search engines)
B) Read my reply, Eweka is offering us an sslreader, meaning instead of newsreaderx.eweka.nl you can use sslreader.eweka.nl. This is not a search engine, but the newsserver itself.
Adding a tab for this is useless, as this is supposed to be input at the servers screen under options..

What (I think) you want has nothing to do with this request, but should be considered as an other request: to be able to add your own search engines in a tab of your own (if I'm not mistaken).

I use a proxy with my searches for privacy reasons.  Adding the ability to use the SSL section of these search engines would be the obfuscating icing on the privacy cake!
