[v0.44.0] [Bug or Not?] SSL connexion
« on: June 30, 2017, 09:18:22 PM »
Hello,

I made a donation since... hmmm.. years I think cause I used to DL on N§ewsgroup. Since.. hmm.. years too.. not enough time but I'm back.
So I DLded the new version: v0.44.0...
I'm using Windows 10 1703 (creator update), AVG and ZoneAlarm.
When I try to connect on my Usenet server. I can't. Not really true. I can with port 119 but with SSL, no way. Tried ports 443 and 563 with no luck.
My usenet server accepts 80, 119, 443 and 563.
Anyway, I tried to connect to another usenet server. I can with ports 119 and 443. Not with 563. I verified on the WebSite to be sure this port is accpeted by this usenet Server and it does!

So I tried with another Client... (yeah sorry.... not very good from probably one of your older customers but I had to! I want Alt.Binz, nothing else! :D).. so... I tried with GrabIt and no problem. I can use these 2 servers with ports 119, 443 and 563.
I verify ZA to be sure all is ok, and windows firewall too (which is disabled) and nothing "seems to" block Alt.Binz...
To finish, Alt.Binz returns error 10053 :D

Any idea?
Best regards

Thanx for your reply Rdl

I unchecked this option: Optimize nntp SSL connection (checked by default) and it works much better :D
What should this option do? Is the SSL connection affected by unchecking this option?

Best regards

Just forcing some ssl options which is obviously not worth it. Many ppl had problem with it.

ok. thank you again.
Should I write [RESOLVED] or move my topic to another, cause it's not really a bug?
