RSS Feed function
« on: February 08, 2011, 06:31:33 PM »
I'm trying to setup a RSS Feed for the TV Show Sausages, but I don't understand the RSS tab at all, not even with the information on the wiki page.
I got my search: teevee@EFNet sausages.s04e*.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse
Which gives me: http://www.nzbindex.nl/rss/?q=teevee%40EFNet+sausages.s04e%2A.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse&sort=agedesc&max=25&nzblink=1 (That's the SabNZBd+ link on nzbindex).
But I can't find how to get this into Alt.Binz (0.35.1) so it keeps downloading it.
I filled in the link in the URL box and got the results in there, but that's all...

Somebody here that can explain me what to do?

What you really want is the RSS feed for the newsgroup itself. You want this url:

http://www.nzbindex.nl/rss/alt.binaries.teevee/?sort=dateTime&max=25&more=1&nzblink=1

Add it to the url box, then open the Filters pane and add this line:

sausages*720p* | A

Close Filters and now click Timer and wait for the next time sausages appears in the feed.  Note: try nzbs.org or nzb.su rather than nzbindex.nl for better/cleaner RSS feeds.

I see, but there are more people 'selling those sausages' at the same spot how can I take care of that?

If it's just different types of sausage, then you can use the Deny string (at the bottom of the filters, as the last one matching is the one that's applied):

sausages*dvdr* | D

and/or be more specific in your Accept strings:

*teevee*sausages*S04E*720p* | A
*teevee*sausages*4x*720p* | A

If it's duplicate sausages, or even spam virus-infected sausages you're trying to avoid (yuck!), then that's a bit more complicated. I really recommend looking at those other sites, their feeds are much more user-friendly for sausage lovers.

Ok, they are not fully identical, I can identify them, so if i set up 2 filters, it will only buy the sausages that suit both requirements correct?

No, the filters are tested in order against each item in the feed,   and the last filter in your list that matches the item (if any) is the one that's used, whether it's Accept or Deny. So you'll buy whichever sausages are matched by any Accept string and don't match any later Deny string in the list.  It's actually quite a simple (but effective) system ...

Now I'm hungry again. :(

Hmm than I don't think the sausages can be bought this way. Any recommendations for other markets? (Perhaps trough PM).
