Title: Help - Is there a way to replace "." with a space in folders / filenames

I have searched - and have not found the answer - maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing - so please forgive if asked and anwered

Is there a way to have Alt.Binz automatically replace periods (.) with spaces in filenames and folder names after downloading an NZB?

Currently looks something like this:
This.is.the.name.of.the.folder
This.is.the.name.of.the.file.xxx

I'd like it to rename to
This is the name of the folder
This is the name of the file.xxx

The only thing i have found is that i use The Renamer program after words and since i download lots of episodes it google them for me and renames them and moves them to the correct folder stored on my server to stream later http://therenamer.com/ enjoy you can also do movies and UFC.
