Using RSS some questions
« on: March 23, 2013, 12:29:09 AM »
hi,

I have started using The rss function in alt.binz.

Code: [Select]
"*1080*german* | A "

Would this find e.q. Tree.german.1080i or will it just find something like:
Tree.1080i.german ? So does it matter in which order the queries stand with wildcards?

2. will i find entries that already exist if i turn on the filter later? e.q. Sth 200 days ago?

3.what happens if the timer is set to 60 minutes, alt.binz closed and i open it 2 days later. Will it load and filter new entries since last time or just ignore them and filter the next new entries 60minutes later?

4.is there a special feature or meaning with:
Code: [Select]
""
? Can i just delete it? I git it from the tutorial.

Sincerely,
Marabunta

1. Order does matter, so it will find just 2nd example
2. Depends what rss feed serves. If it servers items 200 days old - sure, you'll find them
3. As soon as you start altbinz, it will trigger rss update. If rss feed still serves items you got 2 days ago, you'll get continuity and nothing will be missed.
4. "" is not needed

I get the feeling you are not sure how rss function. Usualy it's fixed to last xx (50,100,250) entries. It all depends how many new items appear in feed during day and how many items are served per request.
