Improvement to Categories for TV-Shows
« on: February 26, 2011, 12:03:17 AM »
Some of us like to download TV-shows from the internet (for example if you missed an episode or you only own a DVD player and no recorder), and use Sick Beard for that.
Sick Beard is a program which tracks when TV shows are being aired (using TVDB), looks which one are still missing from your collection and will then search the internet for a torrent or NZB file. When the NZB is found on usenet it can either feed it to S******+ directly, or use the Black Hole method aka placing the NZB in a folder which your favorite newsreader monitors.

It would be great if there could be a system that would scan the NZB names for (parts of) the title of that TV-show and automatically assign it to a certain category so it will always be downloaded and extracted to where you want it. (Most likely the folder Sick Beard monitors for episodes so you don't download them twice for no reason).
Most TV-shows (like 99%) has NZB's like: Title.Of.The.Show.S0XE0Y, so it should be possible. :)

It's true that Alt.Binz isn't designed to assist users to download materials for which they do not have the copyright, and don't expect to see any such features implemented in the future.

However, to answer the general query about automatically processing downloads based on NZB names: this is covered already quite well by the RSS filters combined with Execute Command on Completion scripts - see the wiki for more info.
