Freeze on 200Mbits server
« on: December 12, 2014, 11:38:54 PM »
Hi,
I recently changed my DSL 10 Mbits  ISP to a Fiber 500 Mbits ISP.

I then changed my usenet provider to a 200 Mbits, 20 connection server .

Since, I hardly can't download over 100Mbits without any freeze and hang problems on AltBinz 0.39.15.!

I installed news bin pro and Sabnzbd for a test and I noticed that these 2 leeechers are downloading around 200Mbits without any issues.

I Have avast on my PC and uncheck NNTP and exclude AltBinz process from it.

Is there a solution cause I really don't want to drop AltBinz after using it for over 7 years!!!

(I have a quadcore Q8400 PC, 8GB ram, Win 7 64 bits)
Thank you.

No solution until the 0.4.x series of Alt.Binz is done, whenever that may be (search the forum for the many posts about this). In the meantime, I'm guessing that 100 Mbps would please many Alt.Binz users ;)

Well it's a pity, it's a huge issue!

Any idea when this 0.4xx version is suppposed to be released?

By the way, obviously many users would be happpy with a 100Mbits server but I paid for a 200Mbits . So would you be that pleased if you couldn't use more than half what you paid for?  ::)

I never have actual failures, the GUI doesn't update well, I only see the speed changing. But not once has Altbinz failed to get the files I had queued.

Brute force CPU power helps, I can now fully utilize my 250 MBit line without abz freezing using a Core i7 4790k, while with a it 920 the UI froze at around half the speed, I always had to set a speed limit in abz.  :)
