Sort downloads by clicking on column headers
« on: February 25, 2007, 01:58:00 PM »
I'd like to be able to sort my downloads by clicking on the various column headers. For instance, I would click on the age column to sort by date of the posts (either increasing or decreasing).

You can do that. Select nzb (root node) and then press column header. If you want to sort nzbs you must first enable that option setup->user interface->Allow rootnodes sort. Then you must make sure no node is selected and then you press column header

Oh. Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. I had no idea what 'rootnodes' meant.

I can imagine that I am not alone in not understanding the term 'rootnodes' or what it implies in the setup dialog. Maybe a less technical, but more intuitive description would be useful. At least a hint window with an explanation would be handy. Or, even easier, don't make this an option, but enable it by default. Unless, of course, there is a strong reason not to have this enabled - which personally I don't see.

On picture above nodes named 1,2,3,4,5,6 are what I call 'root nodes'. They do not represent the file but they hold 'child nodes' which infact do represent files. On picture above, root node named '1' has 3 child nodes.

So when you select one root node and press column header, all children of that node will be sorted according to what column and sorting order is choosed. If option I mentioned in previous message is selected and no node is selected (to do that you must click on white space below root node named '6') when you press column header you will sort root nodes among themselfes. Why is this an option? Cause when sorting rootnodes you're totaly rearranging your download queue. I personaly never use this option cause I don't have needs to arrange my download list this way and I don't want to screw order of my whole download list by pressing accidently column header.
