Download Queue vanished
« on: September 05, 2006, 09:27:27 AM »
Dunno if it's a bug, a feature or just plain stupidity on my behalf:

I have the habit of putting each new version of the alt.binz.exe into the same folder as the previous one, and renaming it to the version-# like altbinz0211.exe, altbinz0212.exe etc.

I have altbinz linked in my XP-Startup-folder, this link I always update each time a new version is released.

Yesterday I had to do a system restore, my settings r just to monitor drive C:\ with the system, drive D:\ with alt.binz is not monitored. Unluckily, after this procedure altbinz 0.21.1 was launched instead of 0.21.2 and killed my download queue.

Anyway, I have created a new folder to put older versions in so XP can't start them and this shouldn't happen again, but I'm curious what caused this? Are there some settings stored in the registry?

cheers
Maaki

No, nothing is stored in registry (except registering NZB extension)

Queue file structure is the same, but par2info file structure is different, so probably that caused error.
