Importing ZIP/RAR/gz-ed NZB files
« on: September 22, 2007, 04:52:24 AM »
Hello, my first post here. Been using the program for a while now. Great tool!

To the point... Drag-n-dropping a compressed file with NZBs into Altbinz doesn't seem to be working. Nothing happens. However using the NZB button works just fine. Is it something that was forgotten to be implemented or was it done intentionally? Or maybe it's a bug? If this has already been reported.. my bad then.

Another little thing, not really a bug, just a mere user-friendliness suggestion. If a user selects a rar or a zip that doesn't contain any NZBs files, obviously nothing happens. There's no feedback to what went "wrong". Wouldn't it be nice if you could get a message notifying you that selected file contains no NZBs and whether you would like to choose a different file. Additionally there could be an option in the settings to disable this and have it as it is right now, for those who don't need it

Here's a quick visual mockup of what I mean:

Clicking 'No', just completes the operation and clicking 'Yes', the Open file dialog opens once again. This way you notify the user what has happened and give an option to repeat the action if necessary.

I also have a few suggestions on importing compressed NZBs, but I'll make a different thread for that.

Thanks for your input, and welcome to the forums, but please note that feature requests need to be posted in the Requests forum.  To have posting rights there, you need to be a contributor (i.e. donate).  I'm sure you'll understand the logic of that, and why requests shouldn't be presented as bug reports here.  Any issues: pm me, or visit the IRC channel.
