v0.24.0 build date 14.03.2007

For no apparent reason, alt.binz keeps pausing itself and disconnecting and I have to manually restart it repeatedly.  The scheduler is not enabled.

I have 7gb of files in the queue, 15.1gb of free space on the target drive,  so it should not be being paused because of lack of harddrive space.

The files being pulled from Newshosting, I know they are complete and that the nzb is ok because in frustration I imported the same .nzb into newsleecher 3.8 final and the files download just fine.

When this happens the PAUSE button shows as depressed along with the connect button, and I have to manually un-press pause to get it going again.  Then it works for a while, and pauses itself again.

I can't see a reason, but it's totally unreliable.

Log file please. 99% it's missing free space somewhere. What's the defined free space value? If it's more then 15400 then program will pause download anyway. Also there were some issues with whole pause/suspend decoder thread on low free space which were solved in 160307 daily

I'll try the new daily build.  Also, looking over my system, this may have infact been a low disc space issue.  defined free space value is set at 100mb, and as noted the target download drive had over 15gb free, however, the main windows+program files drive where alt.binz is installed had only 80mb free space because a bunch of other programs were running and generating temp files of their own, so I suppose there were probably issues with alt.binz not having enough space on THAT drive for the segments to get stored before decoding.

I cleaned up 300 mb on the main windows drive and all downloads last night worked fine.

Sorry, my bad.

If this was the case, maybe a future version of alt.binz could check the temp drive and if space is less than, say 100mb, throw a warning like "The drive where temporary files will be processed is nearly full and this may cause decoding errors or cause the program to automatically pause itself.  You should free some space to prevent this from occurring."

Many thanks

Another argument for implementing RAM caching in alt.binz, perhaps?

After several days of testing the 16.03.2007 release I can report this was infact my problem, alt.binz doesn't randomly disconnect anymore with a couple of hundred free mb on the temp drive.

** Sorry for the false bug report!
