I can't get started with Alt.Binz. I import an NZB, I see the progress bar runnig up (to 100%), but I don't see any speed indication and I cannot find the resulting files. Same on another computer in my network. Grabit works fine.

Computer specs? OS? Do the files actually download?

I see as downloadfolder c:\\Aster...

Is the \\ correct and is AltBinz able to save files there??
My downloadfolder is c:\Incomplete\... (so only one \)

Maybe this has nothing to do with it, since AltBinz is not downloading at all, but hey.. just my two cents ;-))

The files do download according status indicator (as you see) but I didn't find any file on the disk.

I didn't immediately change the original settings (C:\) so don't know what this double slash means. I will try changing the settings for download folder though; but I don't think it will have an impact.
Other downloadprograms I use(d) didn't have any of these problems (Grabit, SABNZBD).

Could you enable logging to file and tick detailed logging, exit program, enter program and try again any nzb, run it for a while, exit, upload log somewhere and give me the link. Also check if there is a file called 'exceptions.log' in alt.binz root dir. If yes, please inclued that file also.

OK, Enable logging was already on. The file is posted here.
There is no "exceptions.log" in the root dir. Thanks.

From the log it's obvious that your server doesn't carry alt.binaries.comp group or has low retention. Server responded on every single part with 430 article not found. I'm having trouble believing that any other program will download this nzb from Fiberworlds server.

Try same nzb on free server posted here: http://www.sens-design.nl/alt.binz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=130

Fiberworld has a good retention. The NZB could be downloaded using grabit:

Then, having replaced the server with Easynews it started downloading and giving good indicators. So apparently something is wrong with the communication with the Fiberworld newsserver. Any clue?

Yes, I think I have figured it out. To check, please go to grabit, edit server properties for fiberworld, under 'advanced options' uncheck change active group before downloading article. Click ok, exit grabit, enter grabit and try to download same nzb from fiberworld. If I'm right, grabit will also not be able to download. I'll add that option in next daily build (which you'll have to use at least with fiberworld)

In Setup for server check Select group and Apply, then Reconnect.
Very simply - ABZ ROX!

Can anyone confirm that 'Select group' feature works in 0.24.0?
