Difficulties downloading Alt.Binz
« on: July 16, 2007, 04:55:12 PM »
I must be doing something wrong. I visited the website, and tried to download.

Got this message: You are trying to download alt.binz, this is only allowed if you visited our website first or within a 30 second window.

This way users are not encouraged to use, not talking about paying for, the software, I think.

And I thought I already was at the site.

Well, I registered at the forum, hoping to find a download-link there.

Did not see it, but might overlook it.

Quite difficult to get the program downloaded. Why not using a
more elegant, straight-forward download method?

Hello Janno,
I had the same problem, after trying a few more times I finally succeeded.
It lookes like at first it always goes wrong.
If it fails again I can send the program by e-mail.

I did try several times, without any success. I saw a login option on the homepage, but that one did not work (and should nt show u, since it's the admin login option).

Well, the solution is simple.

I oroginally visited www.altbinz.com

That site is eh, not build so very well...

The href's, linking to the download-mirrors, do look somewhat strange to me at least.

If using altbinz.nl it's a piece of cake!! One can download directly from that site.

However, in the mean time I did read a part of the thread about paying for the software.

If we, the users, are not willing to pay $ 30 (quite a lot of money) there will be no further development, so I do read.

In the sector where AltBinz is operating this is not a very nice way to do.

It's okay if they ask for a voluntary payment. I also could live with a shareware-fee, but remarkebly less than $ 30.

I dislike to be threatened at.

And given my experiences with altbinz.com I doubt if this software is
a good one for me.

I downloaded this program because in another forum someone was very happy with it.
So I give it a try (also because I have problems with newsbin pro) and will give my comments later on this forum.
The 30$ matter is a little strange indeed.
I would be happy with each amount of money.
And if they stop development  -worst case- we should look for another program.

Just go tio the main site and follow the instructions, it should download fine.  The rest is way off-topic, so lockety lock lock.
