How do I repair a download?
« on: May 13, 2007, 04:15:53 AM »
altbinz did not successfully unrar a completed download and did not download the par files. When I try to manually unrar I get an 'unexpected end of archive' message on two of the parts.

The nzb is no longer in the queue. How should I repair this?

I thought this download would have par files but it doesn't. I downloaded the two parts again and got the same message.

Usenet is a lot of fun when you download something for 12 houtrs and it doesn't work.   :P

I found a 900 MB download of matching par2 files. I read the sticky on par2 but that only seems to be for when rar and par files are in the same download.

Just download the matching PAR2 files (just enough blocks for repair) to the same folder, and import the small PAR2, this should repair your archive - but not unrar.  And there's always Quickpar.

Thanks. I did end up using Quickpar and was able to repair it.

Par files are amazing.
