Newzbin and RSS?
« on: June 08, 2007, 09:28:35 PM »
Anyone succesfully made the RSS function of alt.binz to work with newzbin? I can't get it to work.

Any step by step instructions?

Thanks

Which part of the process isn't working for you, exactly? Connecting to the RSS feed?  Filter problems?  More info, please. :)

Sorry I wasn't more clear.

I added this as RSS url:

http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/category/p/tv/?feed=rss (I have a premium account there)

Then I tried a few filters:

*1x* | A
*2x* | A
*3x* | A

I then click 'refresh' and then 'Timer' (10 minutes). After a while it does find something to download but it doesn't seem to be able to download the .nzb file. the log says:

[2007-06-09 06:24:07] [Main]  [RSS] Refreshing http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/category/p/tv/?feed=rss
[2007-06-09 06:24:09] [Main]  [RSS] (release name)
[2007-06-09 06:25:08] [NZB] D:\Download\Usenet\NZB\(release name).nzb imported - 0 files

The feed is just linking to the reports pages, you need some way of passing your username & pw for your premium account to get the actual NZBs returned.  Not sure if that's possible from altbinz, tbh, and I don't have an account to test.

Edit: you'd need something like SABnzbd. :)
