Checking for file existence before downloading an article
« on: April 22, 2007, 02:48:57 AM »
hi all :), 1st post

great app, lightweighted and with lots of cool features

now, a request (what a surprise eheh)

i mostly download music,
hence i have a lot of mp3s scattered in all my drives (internal and external), so i have a hard time keeping track of what i already have (or don't have)

it would be cool if the program could be fed somekind of a database (a .csv file maybe) of the files that i already have and check it to see if the file that is about to be downloaded is already somewhere in my drives

BNR2 as a feature like this, but it's kind of outdated and missing other features that make altbinz great (par2 checking, rar unpacking etc)

anyway, just an idea, hope you consider it

I also need something like this but them more because i lost a nzb file while i was downloading at +/- 60% so i loaded again the same nzb and what happend it went strait downloading the whole pack again even overwriting the file's allready downloaded.

I would love to see this function in this allready great program.
You could call it some kind of resume function.

While this doesn't help the OP, there is a setting currently avail that would help you.

Un der Setup / Downloaded at the bottom is a setting to keep track of already downloaded files for X many days and also a check box to import prev downloaded files as paused.

If you had this set, and then reloaded your nzb file, the prev dl files would have been paused and wouldnt have downloaded again.
