Hi,

Im sure you will all be very pleased to hear that this program is compatible with Windows Home Server Beta 2. (WHS).

This means I can have the altbinz software running 24x7 on my home server, and monitoring a shared directory, where I can simply place nzb files from anywhere in the world.

Auto unrar and unpar is also fantastic, as I was previously using unpacker for this, along with newsbin, and unpacker is not compatible with WHS.

I would like to be able to monitor what this software is doing, from a remote PC.
Perhaps something as simeple as an interface to parse the log files (and an option to place log files where I want to on a shared drive).
Also, a few admin options would also be great, like the ability to amend the scheduler and perform a software reboot. I guess the scheduler should be easy to remotely administer if you put the scheduler details in a text file or xml file that I could also place on my shared drives.

Finally, perhaps converting to a windows service instead of an executable so it can be fully supported by microsofts service management features in WHS.

ANyway, thanks for the software, its great.

Hope it goes from strength to strength.

Cheers
Dan

If remote access is important, the web-based news-downloading applications like Sabnzbd and Ninan - which are daemons controlled by a remote web browser - are probably far superior for the purpose of remote control than any standalone news client could ever be, since they are designed primarily for remote access.
